Persistence is a reflection on a quality we all learn throughout our lives - persistence in everything. 
The only way we accomplish anything, achieve anything or overcome anything, is with a certain amount of persistence.
The marbles in this sculpture persist on their paths to the bottom. One path is fast, but almost dangerously so. The other path is quite a bit longer and with a number of hurdles. Regardless, both paths lead to the end.
